I saw Haarlem

By Mo - September 15, 2017

I am still on the European continent, and maybe it is hard to believe but first ever Haarlem was in Netherlands. Actually, while on my trip here I learned so many things, like that in Netherland they created the first ever trademark and that actually because of the colonization and gaining new food to the country they settled down in now so-called America, and basically what you call New York is Netherlands colonized. Awesome, right?!

So me and my girl we went without no plan to Haarlem. What I knew was only that it is supposed to be a nice place and also that they have a pretty beach. That is all that about our plan. We need to be back in Amsterdam before 7 so we can catch a  bus to Groninger (another awesome Netherland city!).

So what I recommend when you do not have a plan is just to wander and get lost in the beautiful Haarlem street full of flowers, cute animals, and nice people or to walk over an overwhelming garden. There should be only one rule when you wander: always say YES!
Do we want to see the exhibition? YES
Do I want to pet the dog? YES
Do I want to stop and read a magazine from the shelf? YES

Worth of visit while in Haarlem:

Mica - a place that feels like home. This is the cosiest cafe I have been to, and it gives me so much inspiration of once owning my own cafe (once).   They came up with the idea for this little cafe while traveling and experiencing new things. At Mica, you can spend your whole they as they serve breakfast, lunch and the best sweets ever. Why is this place special? Because everything is homemade and healthy, avoiding sugar and waste. Beside the good coffee company, you can join for some workshop, buy some cups or interior accessories or amazing prints or even plants! A dream came true!
